As curfews exist around the island bars and other entertainment venues are trying to come up with creative, practical and safe ways to support their industry and entertain the public. Because everybody needs some fun right now and there’s nothing like some good music to lift the spirits.

And so, some live music performances are to take place in Nicosia in the next few days. One music venue that continues its weekly lives is Sarah’s Jazz Club. Christina Argyri and Friends were scheduled to perform on November 13, however, there’s been a last-minute change. Instead, Sarah herself will perform some classic jazz songs accompanied by Marios Toumbas on piano, Michael Messios on double bass and Marios Spyrou on drums.

The following evening, Saturday 14, the well-known Zilla Project will take the stage for a night of their signature, energetic blues. Popular frontman Big Mo a.k.a Emmanuel Vourakis will perform vocals and electric guitar, Loizos Pafitis will set down a compelling blues groove on electric bass and Stefanos PP Meletiou will command a vigorous pace on the drums. Lastly, Andreas Millnes plans to sear the piano.

The final event for the month at Sarah’s has a Latin flair to it as Cuban band Havana Noche return on November 27 for an energetic live to the rhythms of Latin music. The band was formed in Cyprus by percussionist Constandinos Paouros and participating musicians from Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela and Cyprus.
